Ford Motors is holding a casting call until Thursday in search of unique and trendy individuals who will personify the 2011 Ford Fiesta event.
The event is entitled “Inspired By Color” and various Howard University students along with members of the D.C. community will participate.
“I am excited that this event has come to Howard University,” said Ayofemi Davis, a sophomore print journalism major. “We often receive opportunities relative to our careers, but this event is different. It allows both students and people in the community to take part in a fun and entertaining event, which ultimately may result in members of my Howard family appearing in a national advertisement.”
The “Inspired By Color” campaign is a reflection of the new line of brightly colored cars, which will be released late this year.
Tropical colors, such as lime green, magenta, candy apple red, and yellow will engage participants to allow these new colors to become a part of their new attire.
On the other hand Marcellus Ford, a junior film major said, “I feel like it was a good idea for them to come to our campus, but the fact that it is raining today, and they did not have people promoting on the actual campus opposed to on the top of UGL, no one really knew of or heard about the event. It could have been promoted better.”
Five individuals will be selected to appear in the advertisement, which will be released to screens this spring. Kenny Burns hosted and R&B Singer LeToya Luckett, eBay Style Director Constance White,Fashion Innovator and Parrish Clothing Founder Tony Shellman and Ford Fiesta Designer Kevin George served as the judges for this event.
The Ford Fiesta will continue this week on the top of the Undergraduate Library. Registration for the 2011 Ford Fiesta event is currently closed, but limited walk-ins are available
